Sound of Metal
Really enjoyed this move (saw this on 3/25/21).
1) the sounds in the beginning of this movie gave me tinnitus!
2) what a moving personal movie about dealing with loss of hearing (not sure if it is based on a true story but it feels very intimate and the director and writer shares the same last name)
3) Riz Ahmed and his counsellor, Paul Raci, deserves the Oscar nominations
4) the sound engineers (or is it foley artists) created a cacophony of sounds that hints at what a person who’s had hearing loss hears is pretty enlightening...
Watch it if you can.

Lucky Grandma 03/23/2021
Thank you, San Francisco Public Library!!
It took about six months of waiting but we finally got to watch this movie last weekend...
An entirely (prob only a handful of Caucasian actors) Asian cast... and to see this awesome actor (actress) Tsai Chin in her 80’s being the lead thrilled me to no end... and at that age, she actually gives no f***s anymore...
Thoroughly enjoyable movie... more please! #RespectYourElders #LuckyGrandma

2013 Inauguration for President Barack Obama 01/20/2013
We had the pleasure to secure tickets from Nancy Pelosi's office to attend the 2nd Inauguration of President Barack Obama. We are thankful to Shannon Minter and Robin Minter for housing us for a few days and got a chance to know their friend, Kylar Broadus.
The experience was overwhelming and a once in a lifetime experience! The crowd was amazing and joyful but we were stuck near a tree where a protestors kept screaming "what about the babies" very loudly which caused all of us to be cramped even more closely and tightly together. The advantage to that was that it was a VERY cold day so being that close to one another provide the warmth that we needed to watch President Obama being sworn in for another 4 years term.
